Classic YAWL 31’ ``RAINBOW ``-Originally built in TORONTO in 1927
*SPECIFICATIONS : Original certificate of British Registry. Length over deck : 31feets.Offshore wooden Yacht solidly built. Full Keel. Red cedar over white oak.. Bronze fastening.Marine plywood on deck. Mahogany and teak trim outside. This YAWL make a North Atlantic circumnavigation in 1999, and ready to sail with a new owner. Completely rebuild at Parry Sound for David Eaton of the T.Eaton Company in 1968. Renovated and equipped for blue-water in 1998.
SAIL AND RIGGING : New suit of traditionally build sail.Main with three reefs, Mizzen sail with three reefs, strong Fore Staysail, roller furling Jib, Flying jib, Mizzen Staysail, Storm sail and asymmetric Spinnaker.Top quality rigging and hardware. Sitka spruce masts and Norseman swage-less terminals. This Yacht is easily single-handed.You can easily land to a dock or pick a mooring under sail.
ENGINE / ELECTRICITY : Yanmar 2GM,18HP, 200 running hours . Marine Alternator 35 A, Selector switch and isolator for house battery and starting battery.Electrical panel with 16 branch,manual and automatic charging system.Mechanical and electrical system in excellent condition and well designed. Shaft alternator.Many spares parts.
INSTRUMENTATION : Twice basics instruments to be on the safe side.Two compass,two deep sounders, 2 speed meters (loch). VHF with RG8U cable, GPS, two automatic pilots. All the necessary instruments for monitoring the diesel engine.
INTERIOR LAYOUT : Warm accommodation, fine example of classic yacht. Enough stowage for a three months autonomy sailing trip. Navigation station with space for many documents and charts. Port quarter berth,one starboard settee/berth and an offset port forward berth. Dinette table on strong S.S. pedestal.Galley spaces with plenty storage,bookshelves, top-loading icebox.Two burners gimbal-ed stove and Force 10 cabin heater
EQUIPMENTS: Teak bowsprit. Lifelines, bronze stanchions and safety lines. Manganese bronze deck hardware. Dodger, Bimini, and cover for all sails. Manual windlass,35 pounds CQR with 75 feet of 3/8 BBB chains and 300 feet of 5/8¨mooring lines, FORTRESS 25 pounds with 40’ 3/8 BBB chains and 150’ of 5/8¨mooring lines, two 15 pounds BRUCE with chains and mooring lines, 50 pounds HERRESHOFF and a sea anchor. Plenty of docking lines and fences. Four bilge pumps. Canvas winter covers included.
